It is now six years since Wafula Chebukati was appointed as the Chair of Independent Electrol and Boundary Commission. Together with commissioners Abdi Guliye and Molu Boya, the three have led Kenyans in 2017 and 2022 general elections with Presidential election results in both elections decided by the Supreme Court judges.

Chebukati, Guliye and Molu Boya will be ushering in the new team that will be appointed by the head of state President William Ruto to led the country for the upcoming general elections. Chebukati’s team will be remembered much by many people particularly for the 2022 general elections. Under his leadership, Raila Odinga has lost twice to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and the current President William Ruto.

One of people who will be celebrating his retirement is particularly the former prime minister who has been blaming Chebukati for the losses he suffered. The supporters of the ODM leader have also been waiting for this time to see Chebukati walk away maybe to usher in new hopes for Raila and his people. As Chebukati is set to announce his retirement on 17th next week as IEBC Chair, what will you remember him for?
