Raila Odinga has been the ODM party leader for more than 15 years now. He has been using this party to vie for the country’s presidential seat from the year 2007 then 2013, 2017 and finally 2022. Now, today, Mr Odinga has been handed some bad news. This came in after a major crack was reported from the ODM party.
As seen from one newspaper today, a leadership coup has emerged between youthful and the old ODM leaders. According to this report, youthful allies who are majorly members of parliament wants their old colleagues to stay away from the party leadership on what they have described as the change of guard. According to younger faction, the existing old party official needs to be replaced by the young and brilliant leaders who can bring a change in the party.
Their statement is coming in a day after Siaya governor hon James Orengo told those who want a change in the party to either respect Raila Odinga or form their own parties. These wars will be a blow to Raila Odinga and the entire Azimio La Umoja.
