Raila Odinga Fires Warning Shots To Ruto As Four IEBC Commissioners Summoned To Parliament

Azimio La Umoja principals led by their leader Raila Odinga today attended parliament during a session where four IEBC commissioners led by by Cherera were being grilled.

Raila said summoning the four commissioners was just for allegedly disagreeing with their chair was trivial,vindictive and vile.He also said the parliament was usurping the role of a tribunal by doing so.He said the work of parliament was just to decide if the issues raised warranted the setting up of a tribunal.

“By summoning these commissioners, Parliament is usurping the role of a tribunal. They’re trying to prejudice whatever tribunal could be formed.Parliament’s role must be limited to summoning the petitioners and deciding whether issues raised warrant the setting up of a tribunal,” he said.

Raila also said that if the IEBC commissioners face the same kind of treatment,then it would mark the start of a massive pushback against president Ruto.He said he will be amongst those who will lead the pushback.

“The injustice being inflicted on the 4 IEBC commissioners, if it proceeds as currently conceived, will mark the beginning a massive push back against Ruto and those who think like him, by the people of Kenya. We will openly and robustly lead that push back,” the Azimio leader stated.
