Even as Kenyans rish upcountry to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones, President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are also expected to hold joint celebrations in the North Rift region.
According to reports, Ruto and Gachagua will be the chief guests at a Mega event in Eldoret town.
The two will hold a thanksgiving service at Eldoret Sports club, where a number of guests and politicians are expected to attend.
They will be hosted by Uasin Gishu county Governor Jonathan Bii together with Kapsaret MP Julius Rutto.
Other organizers are all UDA MPs from the North Rift region.
This comes as a break away from tradition where Ruto had been spenfing his christmas days at his native Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu.
On the other hand, the former President Uhuru Kenyatta had been spending his chritmas and new year festivities at the coastal city of Mombasa.
Ruto and Gachagua comes together at a time when cracks biding Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Gachagua have widen in UDA following relocation of matatu terminuses outside the CBD.
While Sakaja has been hell-bent in relocating the terminuses, Gachagua has stood firm to oppose the move creating differences inside William Ruto’s UDA camp.
