Three people lost their lives on Saturday morning while several others were left injured after a grisly road accident that occurred in Njuri, Tharaka Nithi along the Chula Embu highway.
Authorities say the accident which involved a bus belonging to Ruiri Girls’ High School was ferrying 46 passengers from MCK Thau in Tigania West to a wedding ceremony in Nairobi.
Tharaka Nithi County Disaster Manager Alex Mugambi stated that survivors were rushed to Chuka County Referral hospital as rescue operations continue.
“Survivors have been taken to Chuka County Referral Hospital while efforts are being made to free the bodies of the four diseased who are trapped in the wreckage, “Mugambi stated.
