President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretary nominees continued to appear before the vetting committee on Friday, 21st October 2022.
Agriculture CS nominee Mithika Linturi appeared before the committee chaired by Speaker Moses Wetangula to answer to various questions during the vetting process.
During Linturi’s vetting process, Suna East Constituency MP Junet Mohamed took a swipe at Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa, accusing the MP of speaking on behalf of Linturi.
Junet took a swipe at Ichungwa after the took it upon himself to defend Linturi several times, mostly on matters of GMO.
He told Ichungwa to let Linturi answer the questions paused by the committee instead of trying to defend him since he will be the one to implement policies if passed by the committee.
“I want to tell my Leader the Majority leader that he is the Majority leader and he is not going to become the Minister for agriculture for the next 5years. The man who has a chance of becoming is the nominee ahead of us,” MP Junet Mohamed said.
